A press release was published by the European Commission on July 13, 2026, regarding the updating of the product list under the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), the determination of technical rules for the operation of the Information System, and additional explanations for implementation. With these regulations, cattle hides, refurbished tires, soybeans for planting, vulcanized rubber products, conveyor and transmission belts, and aircraft and motor vehicle seats were excluded from the scope of the Regulation; while soluble coffee, certain palm oil derivatives, and frozen beef tongue products were included. It was stated that the obligations for the newly added products will commence from December 30, 2027. On the other hand, technical regulations regarding the Information System for submitting due diligence declarations under the EUDR were also adopted, and the technical infrastructure of the system was updated, particularly with a simplified declaration procedure for micro and small-scale enterprises. The provisions of the Regulation will apply from 30 December 2026 for large and medium-sized enterprises and micro and small enterprises within the scope of the EU Timber Regulation, and from 30 June 2027 for other micro and small enterprises. Companies exporting products covered by the EUDR to the EU market must prove, within the framework of the duty of due care, that their products do not cause deforestation or forest degradation and are produced in accordance with the relevant legislation of the country of origin. In this context, it is beneficial for our exporters to take into account the updated product list, the obligation dates and the guidance documents and explanations regarding the Information System published by the European Commission.
