INTRODUCTION
Ikenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry, whose history dates back to before the declaration of the Republic, was officially established on April 20, 1920, but has been providing services to the city's tradesmen, merchants and industrialists within the framework of Law No. 5174 since the 1800s.
CHAMBER UNITS
There are 17 different departments in our chamber and our chamber personnel provide services to our members within the framework of these units.
The General Secretariat unit, which is the discipline and record officer of the chamber personnel, plays an active role in the management of the chamber. The information transfer between the Board of Directors and the chamber personnel is provided by the General Secretariat.
Accounting, Cashier and Collection Units are the units where the financial records of the chamber are kept. The chamber's budget, income-expenditure table and balance sheet are recorded through these units.
In the Trade Registry Directorate operating under our chamber, company establishment, change and closing registration transactions are carried out within the framework of the Turkish Commercial Code. In addition, transactions related to the Central Registry Recording System are carried out by the MERSİS Unit under the Trade Registry Directorate department of our chamber. The Chamber Registry Department, where the chamber member records are kept, records the registration transactions made by the Trade Registry Directorate through the membership system.
Our Chamber's Domestic Trade Unit carries out transactions such as preparing capacity reports, preparing appraisal reports, researching market value determinations, carrying out construction equipment registration transactions, and registering insurance companies to the TOBB Plate system.
Our Chamber's Foreign Trade unit carries out sales and approval transactions for A.TR Circulation Certificate, EUR.1 Circulation Certificate, Certificate of Origin, Form A, export invoices regarding exports made by exporters.
Our Chamber's Research and Development unit conducts research reports on national and regional economies, regional problems and solution suggestions, country and sector reports and statistical research.
KOSGEB İskenderun Representative Office, affiliated to the Hatay Provincial Directorate of KOSGEB, also provides services in our chamber. KOSGEB İskenderun Representative Office, which addresses the districts of İskenderun, Arsuz, Belen, Dörtyol, Payas and Erzin, organizes Applied Entrepreneurship Trainings and provides information to our members about KOSGEB Grant and Support Programs.
The İskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry Education and Development Foundation Unit, established by our chamber, provides scholarships to successful higher education students who are experiencing financial difficulties. In the Fair Organization unit of our chamber, fair visits that will benefit our members are organized and information is provided to our members about national and international fairs.
In addition, after the obligation to obtain a Vocational Qualification Certificate became a law, MEYBEM İskenderun Representation was established in our chamber and this unit provides information and guidance to our members about this issue.
Our chamber has been among the accredited chambers by certifying that it has been providing 5-star service since 2012. The procedures required by the accreditation process are also carried out by our chamber's Accreditation Unit.
Our chamber's website is updated and developed in our chamber's information technology unit, and all work and transactions in our chamber are transferred to the internet in order to increase accessibility.
In addition, a Press and Public Relations Unit has been established in order to announce the activities carried out in our chamber to our members and the entire public, and this unit ensures our chamber's relationship with the visual and written press.
OUR CHAMBER'S CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE REGION
Our chamber has provided financial and moral support for the establishment of Mustafa Kemal University Faculty of Fisheries, Faculty of Engineering and Maritime Faculties, and these investments have made great contributions to the social, economic and cultural development of our city. The establishment of these faculties in our region formed the foundations of Iskenderun Technical University today. In addition, our chamber has provided significant support to education and science with the construction of İskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry Primary School, İskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry Anatolian High School and additional buildings and conference halls for many schools.
PROJECTS IMPLEMENTED BY OUR CHAMBER
İskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry;
- “Sectoral Foreign Trade Teams” Project with a budget of 215,660 Euros,
- “Project for Developing Women’s Employment in the Tourism Sector (TUSKIP)” Project with a budget of 198,624 Euros,
- And the European Union projects such as ‘‘Obstacles Are Lifting in İskenderun’’ Project with a budget of 170,053 Euros have been carried out and a total of 585
Within the scope of the Technical Support Program provided by the Eastern Mediterranean Development Agency, 2 Technical Support Projects, namely “Finding New Markets in Export and Gaining Effective Competencies” project and “Logistics Supply Chain and Stock Management Training” project, have been implemented and high-quality trainings that are quite useful for our members have been provided.
In addition, 2 SODES Projects totaling 500,000 TL have been implemented within the scope of the “Skilled Hands Skilled Women” project for the tourism sector, 200,000 TL and “From Education to Employment in Tourism in Brand City Hatay” project, 300,000 TL.
OUR CHAMBER’S MEETING ROOMS
Our chamber has 4 meeting rooms, 1 with a capacity of 170 people, 2 with a capacity of 70 people and 1 with a capacity of 30 people for Board of Directors meetings and crowded visits. These rooms are equipped with the latest technology sound and computer systems and are capable of meeting the needs of many public institutions and organizations in addition to the room requirements.

Iskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry plays an important role in the economic development of the region by working in harmony with all its bodies and stakeholders. Our chamber, known as the organization that directs the regional economy, will continue to create added value for our city.
