The duties of the Chamber
council are as follows:
1. To elect the members of the Chamber's Board of Directors and Disciplinary Board,
2.
To elect the delegates to the Union's general assembly from among its own members,
3.
To review and decide on proposals to be made by the board of directors,
4.
Taking mandatory professional decisions,
5.
To determine and announce the commercial and industrial customs, traditions and practices within the working areas,
6.
To review and approve monthly balance sheets and transfer requests,
7.
To establish arbitration institutions to resolve disputes arising between its members or in connection with contracts made by its members,
if such a contract is included, to approve the lists of arbitrators and expert witnesses requested by the courts,
8.
To decide on the penalties proposed by the disciplinary board regarding members registered with the chamber,
9.
To approve the annual budget and final accounts and to discharge the board of directors,
to initiate legal proceedings against those found responsible,
10.
To decide to buy, sell, construct, subdivide, consolidate and mortgage immovable property, to borrow money, to expropriate, to build schools and classrooms, to establish companies and foundations or to become a partner in existing companies within the framework of the provisions of this Law,
11.
To accept the internal guidelines of the Chamber and submit them to the Union for approval,
12.
To examine and finalize appeals against decisions made by the board of directors regarding the mandatory registration of members or the ranks of members,
13. To establish specialized commissions and advisory boards according to professions and problems, o:p>
14.
To become a member of domestic and foreign industrial, commercial and economic organizations and
to send delegates to their congresses,
15.
To examine and decide on the proposals from the board of directors regarding the abandonment of the pursuit of receivables that have become impossible to collect, or the forgiveness and/or restructuring of membership dues and late payment penalties of members who have died, ceased trading, or are in difficulty paying their membership dues due to force majeure events such as fire, flood, earthquake, and similar natural disasters beyond their control, and to decide on lawsuits to be filed on behalf of the chamber or its members, and to delegate this authority to the board of directors when deemed necessary,

To grant honorary membership to persons who have rendered significant services to the Chamber's work or to Turkish economic life, by a decision of two-thirds of the total number of members of the Assembly,
To fulfill other duties assigned by the relevant legislation,
