In a letter received from our Baghdad Commercial Counselor"s Office, referring to the Iraqi Central Bank"s Circular dated August 20, 2025, on "Regulatory and Simplifying Import Procedures," it is stated that the Customs Data Automation System (ASYCUDA) importer code check for international payments related to export proceeds has been postponed until December 1, 2025.
The letter continues by stating that it has been understood that the Iraqi General Commission of Customs, in coordination with the Iraqi Central Bank, has postponed the recent measures (importer code and summary declaration check) it has been attempting to implement using information from the ASYCUDA system in a uniform manner until December 1, 2025. Finally, the article states that Turkish export companies, especially importers residing in the KRG, and all importers throughout Iraq, are advised to confirm in advance whether they meet the requirements for remitting export proceeds to our country through the Banking System on or after December 1, 2025 (importers must submit a valid importer code and summary declaration to banks). Otherwise, they may encounter problems such as not being able to receive export proceeds through the banking system or experiencing delays in such remittance transactions.
