The Industrial Emissions Management Regulation was published on 14.01.2025 and will enter into force on 01.12.2025. The Regulation and Regulation Annexes are presented in the annex of the article.
The purpose of the Regulation; To prevent and reduce industrial emissions and waste generation that cause air, water, soil, noise and odor pollution at the source and to regulate administrative and technical procedures and principles for green transformation, circular economy and decarbonization in the industry in order to use resources efficiently.
In summary, the Regulation brings new regulations regarding the following issues:
Facilities performing the activities included in the annexes of the Regulation are required to obtain a Green Transformation in Industry (SYD) certificate. In this context, the mandatory sectors are divided into 6 categories in Annex-1 List: Energy sector, Metal production, Mineral industry, Chemical industry, Waste management and other activities, and organic solvent usage activities (coating, cleaning, printing, surface cleaning) are listed in Annex-2 List. etc.) are defined.
- These facilities will need to obtain an SYD certificate in order to complete the environmental permit and license process.
- Those who work in the environmental management units of the facilities applying for the SYD certificate at least three years of experience It is regulated that the personnel with the relevant qualifications can only take part in the certification process related to their own facilities as SYD responsible, within the framework of the procedures and principles determined by the Ministry, provided that their CV is included in the evaluation report. It is stated that it will be done by.
- SYD evaluation report performance indicators have not yet been clarified and will be published on a sectoral basis until the date the Regulation comes into force.
