In a notification made to our Union by the International Road Transport Union (IRU) regarding the use of TIR Carnets in transit transport through Syria, it is stated that Syria became a party to the TIR Convention in 1999, that the TIR System is currently implemented in Syria, and that TIR Carnets are accepted by Syrian customs administrations within the framework of the Convention"s provisions. In this context, it is stated that transport through Syria to subsequent countries, including the Gulf countries, can be carried out within the scope of the TIR System. On the other hand, transit transport through Syria is currently being carried out and these transports are completed without any problems.
