In real estate and vehicle advertisements; in order to prevent fake advertisements, advertisement pollution, speculative price increases and consumer grievances, identity and authorization verification obligations have been introduced to online advertising platforms. Within the scope of these obligations, the identity and authorization verification of real or legal persons who want to post real estate and vehicle advertisements is mandatory through the Electronic Advertisement Verification System (EİDS) established within our Ministry through the integration of the advertising platforms. This regulation covers all advertisements given in the electronic environment, including Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp, and all real estate and vehicle advertisements on these platforms are monitored by our Ministry, and necessary administrative sanctions are applied to advertisements published in violation of the regulations introduced by EİDS. In this context, an administrative fine has been imposed on META Platforms İstanbul Bilişim Hizmetleri Limited, which operates these platforms, for real estate and vehicle advertisements published on Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp in violation of EİDS. Businesses engaged in real estate and motor vehicle trading are required to share only the links of advertisements that have undergone EİDS verification on these platforms, and not to share any other advertisements. Otherwise, administrative fines of up to 286,206 TL will be imposed on businesses that share advertisements for each violation.
