With Iraq"s implementation of the TIR system as of April 1, 2025, our country"s vehicles have started transporting goods to subsequent countries using the Iraqi transit route. In this context, it has become possible to carry out uninterrupted road transport to Saudi Arabia using the Iraqi transit route. In the letter received from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure; it was stated that trial runs to Saudi Arabia are planned using the Arar Border Gate via Iraq, and that driver visa applications for bilateral transport to Saudi Arabia should be made through agencies authorized by the Saudi authorities, and that drivers should apply to the relevant agencies with the application form, photograph and vehicle registration included in our letter.
