02 Şubat 2026 - 14th Professional Group Announcements
At the meeting;
Fuel stations are required to report to the tax office, by May 30, 2025, the guarantee letters, which are given as a definite and indefinite guarantee of 0.1% of the annual turnover. However, our station owners are having difficulty providing guarantee letters both in terms of banking regulations and costs. If a guarantee letter is not given to the bank, the matter is transferred to the insurance companies, and the insurance companies demand high-interest, indefinite guarantee letters. Moreover, EPDK (Energy Market Regulatory Authority) inspects the stations and closes them in problematic situations. In this case, the guarantee letter also becomes invalid. It has been decided that the necessary steps should be taken to convey to the TOBB (Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey) sector council the issue of exempting petrol stations that own property from this letter of guarantee application or calculating the letter of guarantee based on net profit instead of annual turnover.
