At the meeting; 1- Regarding the Parking Problem
According to TÜİK (Turkish Statistical Institute) data, there are a total of 722,500 motor vehicles in our province. The total population of İskenderun, Arsuz, and Belen districts, which are within the activity area of ​​our Chamber of Commerce, is approximately 380,000, and the number of registered motor vehicles is approximately 175,000.
However, as far as we know, there are only 2 registered public parking lots in these three districts, which is insufficient to meet the current need. The parking problem, especially in city centers, negatively affects the daily lives of our citizens and significantly hinders the commercial activities of our tradesmen.
In order to improve the quality of life in our city, reduce traffic congestion, and support the commercial activities of our tradesmen, it is requested that the necessary initiatives be taken by the relevant municipalities to plan and implement new public parking areas.
2- Regarding Commercial Credit Growth Quota
Banks limit commercial credit growth rates to 2.5% annually in line with the BDDK regulations implemented within the scope of combating inflation. Due to this practice, after banks fill their defined credit growth quota, even firms with credit limits cannot access the financing they need.
This situation; This leads to disruptions in the cash flow of businesses, their inability to meet their commercial obligations on time, problems with checks and payments, and difficulties in meeting their working capital needs.
In order to facilitate access to finance for our members who are trying to continue their activities under difficult economic conditions, it has been decided to take the necessary initiatives with the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and to write to the relevant authorities to evaluate our request to increase the commercial loan growth quota from 2.5% to 5%.
