The meeting titled "Discussion of Problems Experienced in the Insurance Sector After the February 6th Earthquakes and Proposed Solutions," organized by the 18th Professional Committee of the Iskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ITSO), was held in the Halil Şahin Assembly Meeting Hall on the 3rd floor of our Chamber.
The meeting was attended by Hande Akın, Head of the SEDDK Department and Chairman of the DASK Board of Directors; Levent Korkut, Chairman of the TOBB Insurance Agents Executive Committee; Mehmet Özgür Yılmaz, Vice Chairman of the TOBB Insurance Agents Executive Committee; and Balkır Demirkıran, General Secretary of DASK; as well as ITSO President Levent Hakkı Yılmaz, ITSO Board Member Levent Çam, members of the ITSO 18th Professional Committee, İSADER President İbrahim Torun, sector representatives, and relevant members.
During the program, the developments in the insurance sector following the February 6th earthquakes were comprehensively evaluated, and the problems encountered in the field and proposed solutions were discussed.
Participants focused particularly on damage assessment processes, DASK (Turkish Natural Disaster Insurance Pool) compensation payments in the post-earthquake period, and raising insurance awareness. Participants shared their views and suggestions for making the sector more effective and sustainable, and emphasized the importance of inter-institutional cooperation. The meeting concluded after a mutual exchange of views.
