Representatives of the Hatay Business World Platform gathered at a meeting hosted by the Kırıkhan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Presidents of Hatay’s chambers and commodity exchanges attended the meeting.
At the opening of the meeting, the importance of meeting regularly to develop Hatay’s economic potential, find solutions to common problems of the business world, and contribute to regional development was emphasized.
Two main agenda items were discussed:
????Establishing an International Fair in Hatay
The participants highlighted the advantages of Hatay’s strategic location and emphasized that establishing an international fair would greatly contribute to regional trade. It was stated that the fair would be a significant opportunity to develop trade with Syria, open new markets, and increase export potential.
????Drought and Precautions
Another important issue on the agenda of the regional business community is the increasing drought in recent years. Possible measures against the drought problem, which negatively impacts agricultural production, were discussed. Business representatives will hold meetings with relevant institutions and organizations to accelerate efforts on sustainable agricultural policies and efficient water use and determine the roadmap for the upcoming efforts.
