A New Stage in EU Geographical Indication Application by İskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry:Hatay Kaytaz Böreği Declared in the European Union

The Hatay Kaytaz Böreği geographical indication application, which was registered on 23.03.2022 by İskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry to be protected in our country as of 25.09.2021 and submitted to the European Union Commission General Directorate of Agriculture and Rural Development with the application number PGI-TR-02900 on 30.01.2023, has been carried out with determination despite the interrupted processes due to the earthquakes that occurred on February 6, 2023 and has reached an important stage today.

With the announcement published in the Official Gazette of the European Union dated 07.07.2025 and numbered C/2025/3672, Hatay Kaytaz Böreği has entered the three-month objection period with the EU and passed a critical threshold in the registration process.
