The meeting, which began with a moment of silence and the recitation of the National Anthem, included assessments of the new term by Council President Gassan Kuran and ITSO Board of Directors President Atıf Ceritbinmez.
In his opening speech, Council President Gassan Kuran stated that the meeting was significant as it was the first council meeting of the next four-year service period. Emphasizing that the common goal after the intense election process was to serve ITSO, its members, and Iskenderun in the best possible way, Kuran drew attention to the importance of working together in unity and solidarity in the new term. Kuran also thanked the former council presidents and council members who were not present for their contributions, and extended his best wishes to the citizens and chamber members in Iskenderun and Arsuz affected by the rainfall.
ITSO Board of Directors President Atıf Ceritbinmez, in his speech, congratulated the newly elected council members and thanked them for the trust and support shown to him. Stating that the duties of the chamber are not personal positions but a shared responsibility of the business world and its members, Ceritbinmez said that they will act with a common sense, consultation, and cooperation approach in the new term.
Noting that they see the economic and commercial development of Iskenderun, the interests of the chamber members, and the future of the business world as their primary goals, Ceritbinmez invited the council members to develop projects and produce common solutions in unity and solidarity.
