Another important vocational training project that will contribute to employment in Hatay has been launched. The KAYMEP (Welding Vocational Training Program), initiated in cooperation with Hatay Metropolitan Municipality, Hatay Career and Employment Center, Iskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Eastern Mediterranean Development Agency, and Iskenderun Technical University, has officially begun.

The project, which aims to meet the long-felt need for qualified welders in the metal and related sectors, will provide candidates with comprehensive training in gas welding and electric arc welding methods. The program, which constitutes a strong example of university-private sector cooperation, is expected to make a significant contribution to regional employment.

The trainings, which will be held at the Welding Excellence Center within ISTE between March 30 and April 17, will consist of intensive theoretical and practical lessons 5 days a week. The program includes; Basic training will be provided in fundamental materials knowledge, welded manufacturing methods, structural steel welding and NDT methods, as well as in the field of Occupational Health and Safety. Trainees who successfully complete the training process will be subjected to a Metal Welder (Level 3) Vocational Qualification Certificate exam. The aim is to facilitate the candidates" entry into the workforce after the certification process. The opening program of the project was attended by İTSO Board Chairman Levent Hakkı Yılmaz, İSTE Vice Rector Erdoğan Kanca, DOĞAKA Hatay Coordinator Menal Zubarioğlu, İTSO 3rd Group Vocational Committee members, private sector representatives from the project partners Güven Makina (Mehmet Kirmit), Aygen Mekatronik (Koray Aygen), Asil Belge (Barış Doğan), Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Career Center officials, and trainees. At the opening, satisfaction was expressed regarding the realization of the Welding Excellence Center, and thanks were extended to all stakeholders who contributed to the project"s realization.
