Within the scope of the International Competitiveness Development (UR-GE) Project carried out by Iskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ITSO), companies operating in the automotive and filter sectors made important contacts in England. Within the scope of the visit, developments regarding production processes, quality standards, electric vehicle production and the UK"s net zero targets were examined on-site, while comprehensive evaluations were made on supply chain management. ASAŞ Filter A.Ş., AK-FİL Filter A.Ş., GFT Filter A.Ş. and AGM Otomotiv A.Ş. and IS-KA Kauçuk Metal Plastik A.Ş., Within the framework of the visit, which was held with the participation of representatives of companies, İTSO Secretary General Figen Gül Dönmez and Project Manager Barış Kaan Toprak, the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey to the United Kingdom, Society of Motor Manufacturers & Meetings were held with prestigious institutions and companies such as Traders (SMMT), Imperial College London Future Vehicle Hub, Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz and others. In addition, officials from the West London Chamber of Commerce were interviewed and detailed information was received about business establishment processes, commercial opportunities and investment supports in England.
Iskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry Secretary General Figen Gül Dönmez stated that, within the scope of the UR-GE project supported by the Ministry of Commerce, they aim to increase the international competitiveness of companies. He emphasized that the visit carried out in this direction is an important step in expanding the export volume from Turkey to the UK and opening up our companies to global markets.
