Austria"s Ambassador to Ankara, Ms. Gabriele Juen, and Trade Counselor, Mr. Gerhard Lackner, visited the İskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During the meeting, the development of economic relations between the two countries, the investment and industrial potential of the İskenderun region, and export opportunities in the filter and iron-steel sectors were discussed.

ITSO President Levent Hakkı Yılmaz emphasized that İskenderun is one of the most important industrial centers of Turkey and made the following statements: “The İskenderun Gulf Region meets approximately one-third of our country"s total steel production capacity. In the filter sector, 60-65% of the internal combustion engine filters produced in Turkey are produced in our region and exported to many countries. This data clearly demonstrates the production power and export capacity of the region.”

Yılmaz also touched on the projects they carried out as the Chamber and stated that important connections were established in the international arena thanks to the marketing activities they organized in England in February 2025 within the scope of the UR-GE project. conveyed.

Austrian Ambassador Gabriele Juen stated that İskenderun"s strategic location and industrial capacity were remarkable, and emphasized that commercial cooperation between the two countries should be increased. Trade Counselor Gerhard Lackner also stated that Austrian companies" interest in the Turkish market was increasing and that they were open to new cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, mutual goodwill wishes were expressed, and a consensus was reached on evaluating future cooperation opportunities.
