İTSO President Yılmaz and sector representatives visited the İSTE Welding Excellence Center

A delegation consisting of İskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry (İTSO) President Levent Hakkı Yılmaz, İTSO 3rd Professional Committee members, ASİL certificate representatives, manufacturing sector representatives, and master welders visited the Welding Excellence Center located within İskenderun Technical University (İSTE).

During the visit, İSTE Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Kanca provided detailed information about the center, its activities, and goals. In the meeting where relevant stakeholders came together, the importance of drawing up a common roadmap for the sustainable and effective operation of the center was emphasized, including all stakeholders such as İTSO, the university, and the Eastern Mediterranean Development Agency (DOĞAKA). Industry representatives, welders, and representatives of the certification company exchanged ideas on future strategies. ITSO President Levent Hakkı Yılmaz stated that the Welding Excellence Center is one of the few examples of its kind in Turkey, and that its active use will make significant contributions to both the regional manufacturing sector and the national economy. Yılmaz noted that in addition to existing masters obtaining the necessary certifications, equipping those new to the profession with basic training will yield fruitful results for the sector. Therefore, he stated that collaboration between the sector and the center would be a healthy path for the sector"s development. Following the briefings, the delegation toured the center, examining the equipped equipment and training areas. It was explained that the training provided at the center is simulation-supported, aiming to ensure participants receive fully comprehensive training.
